CoCoah- "Cookie", as I m known by my family & close friends, began braiding at the age of 5, while watching my mother braid my sister's hair.  By the age of 13, I began braiding intricate styles, as well as "names" into ones hair.  By 15, I was able to weave and add commercial hair pieces "undetectably.  When the 1970's came around, I had "mastered" speed, with every weave and braid technique available to me, as well as creating elaborate styles, myself!  Thus earning the "industry" name of The Black Widow! I soon began to Weave myself a Web of Fortune.

After graduating high school early, I pursued a formal education in Cosmetology and ranked in the top 3 percentile of my graduating class.  I also received the Distinguished Achievement Award for excellence in Cosmetology and also earned my ANVQ certification.  After graduating and obtaining my Cosmetology license, I went to work for Dr. Willie Morrow, founder of California Curl Academy & Research laboratories and who also "created" the first "cold wave" perm for African American hair.  I furthered my knowledge by obtaining training from Margaret "ASSY" Sylva and other African Hair Care associates from the East coast.  Later, I went on to become the assistant manager of a multi-cultural salon, and was an "exclusive" consultant for California Curl products and technical advisor for the salon, which launched my career as an Educator.  I've also worked as a make-up artist, image and style developer, as well as a personal stylist. I have coordinated many fashion shows, hair shows, weddings, and a host of other special occasions.  This license also helped me to pay my way through college for an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science".

In 1988, I opened my own "private" salon, CoCoah's Image Artistry and began "weaving" positive images for body builders, models, dancers, actors and entertainers, as well as professionals of all backgrounds and ethnicities and "contracted" my services to local mortuaries.  I have worked as an Expert consultant for Salon owners, Stylists, and general public for usage, application, styling and maintenance and removal of commercial human and synthetic hair pieces.

I also can provide ADVANCED Technical Instruction on how to correctly apply, cosmetic hair additions such as weaving, braiding, and augmentation units, with OVER 30 Techniques applied to ANY ethnic group and ANY texture of hair.  You will learn "undetectable" extension application, removal, planning, formatting, finishing, techniques, ethnic and multicultural hair care, differences in synthetic and human hair and where to but it!  For the ADVANCED technical courses. you should already know how to make a "single" braid and make a "Cornrow/French" braid.

In the year 2000, the NATURAL HAIR REVOLUTION returned, along with it, came Beautiful "Locked" Strands of hair which some refer to as DREAD locks.  There IS NOTHING "DREAD"FUL about our "Natural" God given form of hair! From hence on, I will refer to "Locz"!
